In the United States, studies shows that there are nearly 13,600,000 widowed persons. (U.S. Bureau Census website). Widows & Widowers represent almost 7% of the American population. Not to mention, women are more likely to be widowed than men. Due to women living younger than men, their chances are greater at becoming a widow. 

Let’s help support W.A.V.E. and its Mission to help support Widows, Widowers, and Single Parents who lost a spouse & provide support to their children.

 Raven Phillips-Lee, is a surviving widow and devoted advocate.  After losing her husband tragically to a homicide in 2014, she began telling her story to small groups and organizations in the community. From previous speaking engagements, she has earned several awards such as parent volunteer and most volunteered hours. 

She is also a devoted mother to her 3 daughters. Therefore, her unwavering dedication and passion to help others by her story, is the driving force behind the W.A.V.E’s Vision and Mission.

W.A.V.E. Inc., (Women Against Violence Empowerment), is a 501 (c) 3, Non-Profit Organization incorporated in Petersburg, Virginia. We are designed to Empower, Motivate, Encourage, and Assist Women, Widows, Widowers, & Single Parents who loss a spouse violently, tragically, or from a sickness or Illness; and to be a support system for their children.

These resources offered are, but not limited to Counseling, Education, Employment, and Financial services and resources. With the help of W.A.V.E. and our partnering organizations the community; our goals are for these families to become inspired as being better citizens & living a better quality of life.

We are the organization to provide guidance & support to these families while they continue to transition in life accepting the loss of their loved one. We will partner with the local community to provide them with the resources needed to continue to live an abundant life with joy and peace. We want "To Create a World Free of Violence."
